A #sheroes #yokoQandA between @reeraw & @yokoono
reeraw: what was the difference between the original cut piece performance you did in ’65 versus the version you did in ’03?
yokoono: The difference was people were much more scared for me in 2003. Sean, who doesn’t come to my performances as much, flew all the way to Paris, and stood on the side of the audience to protect me. That was sweet.. and was one difference from 1965.
reeraw: was “death of samantha” autobiographical? only discerning based on when approx infinite universe came out & nixon’s re-election
yokoono: The lines were inspired by my personal experience.
reeraw: did you see the 112 chamber st. loft as an installation space for your own work or as a pre-AG gallery salon?
yoko ono: I thought it would be a good space for myself and my friends to do some experimental works.
reeraw: Fascinated with the production of “The Sun Is Down”. did you go into the studio with linear lyrics, or was it disjointed to begin with?
yokoono: Improvisation.
